VIN3: Part 2

Waiting at the doctor's office

In an attempt of preemptive combat, my doctor strongly recommended I get the Gardasil 9 immunization. If you know anyone who has had this shot, it hurts…and it’s a series of three shots throughout a six month period! It stings from the moment you get it and lingers for days.

My last three-month colposcopy follow-up was in September. I completed my Gardasil series in August, but I still had a bad feeling for this appointment. Just a week before my follow-up, I felt a new lump emerge out of nowhere. VIN dysplasia generally grows very slowly, so I knew this new lump was going to cause frustration. We did a biopsy and it came back as VIN2. Because we have fought the same area over and over, we decided to go ahead with surgery.  Continue reading

Annual Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree
Annual Christmas Tree cutting
Over Thanksgiving weekend, we made our way over the hills and through the woods to Cupkie Christmas Tree Farm. We are really enjoying this family tradition. Have you added any new holiday traditions recently? Or reminisce of christmas’ past with traditions that have passed down generations through your family? I would love to hear about them!

VIN3: Part 1

Vulva (VIN)

It started at my annual OB-GYN appointment in Fall 2014. My doctor noticed a lump on my vulva. I knew it had been there for years and my pap smears always came back clear. I had been examined by other OB’s throughout my second pregnancy. They didn’t seem concerned. A few weeks went by with no results. No news is good news, right?

I got an after hours call from my doctor. The biopsy came back as Vulvar Intraepithelial Neoplasia (VIN3), a severe dysplasia or pre-cancerous change. I remember hearing the word cancer and not much after that. I fucking hate that word!

Supernatural Season 10

Black

Demon Dean sings Karaoke – and he isn’t very good! All the weight of the world is off his shoulders; he doesn’t care about anything or anyone. Throughout the series, Sam’s character arcs have dramatically changed with soulless Sam, Lucifer Sam, etc. It’s fun to watch Dean go down a path we haven’t seen before.

Now you listen to me; there’s no trade, there’s no meet up, there’s no nothing. Except the 100% guarantee, somewhere down the road I will find you and I will kill you.

Hunteri Heroici

Another fun episode! Think Looney Toons, Supernatural Style. People are dying in cartoonish ways. Dean tries to fire his gun after the robber, but a flag with the word BANG! appears instead of a bullet. Dean chases and tackles him, freezing in midair as cartoon-style captions appear next to them. Dean draws an “X” on the ground and a 1-ton anvil barely misses landing on Mahoney, who then tries to leave the bank through one of his drawn black holes.

In Toontown, a – a pretty girl can make your heart leap out of your chest, anvils fall from the sky, and if you draw a door or a black hole on the wall, you can stroll right through it.

Well, I mean, according to that interviewer, not very many people do. Look, I’m not saying it makes sense. I’m just saying, we — we landed in some dimension where you’re Jensen Ackles, and I’m something called a ‘Jared Padalecki.’
